A little announcement!

Julia is going to be a big sister! We are pregnant and due Sept 30th! It was a long road and we are so thankful for this blessing! This video was taken the night we told Julia she was going to be a big sister. It is such a true and honest reflection of her excitement that we wanted to share it with our family and friends. Keep checking for updates on our "growing" family :)

Thinking Spring

I thought I'd throw on this cute pic of Julia with her Valentines box that had to have a "baby giraffe" on it. She had fun checking out all the fun valentines she got.

We have been making some deviled eggs around here lately and here's a fun chick we made! Julia had fun adding the 4 eyes? and she even ate it! Truth in making things fun for kids might make them try different food - she has always said no to deviled eggs before!

I need my glasses!

Julia is lucky to be able to spend lots of time with her grandmas and papas! It shows as she has now taken to occasionally requesting "I need my glasses so I can see the cards, book, game, etc"
Whether they are right side up or upside down, apparently they help :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Julia and I had our friends over for the 2nd annual Valentine's and Cupcakes Party. Good time was had by all! Dad brought home roses for us girls and we had a special dinner at home on Saturday to celebrate because Kyle had to work on Valentine's this year.

Growing Up!

Two big milestones in Julia's life occurred in January and February. We cut her hair for the first time and converted her crib into a "big girl" crib.

While the haircut went flawlessly, we are dealing with a little less of a sleeping angel than we were before. Nothing tragic, just consistently shorter naps and earlier mornings. Leads me to the "what were we thinking" thought but as Kyle reminds me "she can't be in a crib forever." Really? Why not!?

Sesame Street Live!

Julia loves watching Elmo's World on Sesame Street so we couldn't resist when we heard they were coming to town. Great Grandma Brown took care of the tickets for Christmas and we all had a great time. During the finale I tried to warn Jules that it might be the last song - "No! One more song! One more song!"

In the middle of the night a week after the show she woke up wet - first time for a long time - and was pretty upset about it. We were sitty on the potty and she said "I got my panties all wet. . ." Suddenly she brightened and giggled "Big Bird was there, Cookie Monstor was there! They were upside down. They're so silly!" Clearly she had quite the dream going on! She is still talking about that dream a few days later!

Christmas Snow

We got hit with 15 inches of snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day here in Omaha. It was just like the scene from Christmas Story - branches covered in ice and tons of snow on the ground. We had a 4-5 foot drift all along our backyard - perfect for tunneling!

Unfortunately its only been warm enough for a day or two since then :( But on one of those warmer days Julia and Kyle built a snow fort & tunnel - and had a great time! Julia loved eating the snow and making faces at Mom through the glass.
