Lake Trip!

Kyle, Julia and I were about to get away for a quick trip to the lake a few weeks ago! Kyle was lucky enough to have two days off in a row (his only two days all month!)

Cashed out on the boat!

Look at me Grandpa - driving the boat!

Look at me so cute in my pj's!

Summer Time!

Happy Summer everyone! Here are some pics of Julia and her new trike, a view from our almost finished kitchen, a great picture of Julia and Cousin Mallory on a warm summer night, and a pic of G&G Ringenberg with their group of 3 grandkids - Julia, Mal and Baby Garrett! We are enjoying being out west and seeing friends and family (not so keen on the drive to work but we were spoiled!) We are looking forward to moving in our new house on Sept 12th!

Happy Belated Fourth!

We are a bit behind in the blogging world - for those of you who we haven't talked to we have moved! Temporarily. We sold our house, closed (thankfully) and moved out the weekend before the Fourth. Kyle also started residency July 1 so it has been a little crazy around here! We moved in with Kyle's parents in Elkhorn (3011 N. 200th Elkhorn, NE 68022) and will be here until the beginning of September when we will close on our new home. It is currently being drywalled (pics up soon) and we are excited! So, regardless, almost a month between blogs is not acceptable and I promise we will be better! Julia is doing great, walking like crazy, saying "puppy" "bai-ey" the dog, bye bye, woof and oo oo like the monkey. She is rolling out new sounds every day. So fun! She is also really enjoying having the grandparents close by!

Trip to the Ozarks - 1 year old!

We headed down to the Lake of the Ozarks on June 12th - it was a nice relaxing time, other than dodging some pretty nasty weather here and there. Jules had her first boat ride, first spin in her floaty on the lake, and first playtime in her new pool! She also started pointing out mommy & daddy's noses and toes this weekend - so smart - Kyle starts residency in a few weeks so we are trying to enjoy these last weeks of time together before life changes a bit :) Take care all!

Julia's First Birthday!

Whew! This is a big one - and rightfully so! Julia turned one on June 6th - her party was Saturday the 7th. We all had a great time - Julia is walking like crazy now and loving playing with all her new toys.

I think she's in awe :)

The cake ensemble! I went a little overboard - although I may rethink the black frosting next time - see next photo.. .

Hmmm - in case you are wondering. . . Yes. . black frosting tends to show itself the next day - if you know what I mean - not once, but several times over!

Julia's Little Red Wagon from Mom & Dad - she loves it!

Jules and Mallory playing with the balloons - 20 tries and this is the best picture we got!

The cupcake Julia had the day of her actual birthday - much easier to handle than a whole cake!

Little Miss Ladybug!

Julia's first chocolate! She was up several hours past bedtime!

Birthday Breakfast - Waffles & Fruit. And a great "How old are you?" ONE!

Love the new shades!

Pizza Party at Zios for my First Birthday on Friday, June 6th - G&G R, Uncle Scot, Aunt Kendy and Cousin Garrett joined Jules to celebrate! Yep - I'm a good walker now!

Zoo Trip!

We had a great time at the zoo - Julia was a trooper and enjoyed the gorillas, the carousel ride, and the aquarium. She also liked the new butterfly exhibit and of course, the ice cream! We even had an up close view of the new Madagascar exhibit - courtesy of godfather Sam, who is working for Kiewit on the project!

The Incident

Okay so this isn't that big of an incident, but since we have the photo evidence to show the sequence of events we thought we should share - it got quite the laughs out of us this evening. Not to mention having it in writing will no doubt be good blackmail 16 years from now :)

1. The innocent Julia pre-bath

2. The not so innocent Julia tinkling (yes, you can see it) on the floor

3. Checking out the damage (Mom was laughing too hard to notice Julia taking interest in the damage).

4. The damage - enough said
