Jade - 3 weeks

Jade was 3 weeks old yesterday and is doing great! She has been a good baby so far, had her 2 week check up and she was up to 7 lbs 10 oz (ironically Julia's birth weight) and 7 oz over birth weight so that was great to see. She is getting up twice a night which at this point is very manageable! Julia is still doing great with her and we have had a chance to get out and do some fun things as a family. We made our first trip to the zoo with Jade when she was a week and a half, then we went to Mt. Michael's Fall Festival last weekend. Julia had a great time this year, rode the horses, jumped in the bouncer, hayrack ride and carnival games - too fun!

Jade is looking a lot like Julia did at her age, major differences being less hair, very blond eyebrows (Julia's were dark), and more almond shaped eyes. We'll see how different these two become as time goes on! We are so excited to watch them grow up together.

Baby Jade!

We are thrilled to announce the birth of our second darling daughter. . Jade Victoria. She was born September 7th, 3 weeks early, but weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long! She is 8 days old today and has been a sleeping angel . . we are waiting for that to change here anytime :) Julia has been a great big sister. She loves giving Jade hugs and kisses and holding her several times a day. She has been a great helper too, getting diapers and blankets for Jade whenever we ask her to! Kyle went back to work yesterday and today is his first day on call so we'll see how us 3 girls hold up on our own! Thanks everyone for the well wishes and we'll keep posting some updates!

Summer Cousin Fun

Julia had a great time with her cousins for Pre-Fourth festivities! A special trip to the Childrens Museum with Mal and her first dance class were the highlights :) We also did waterslides, popsicles and some floor cleaning (who would have thought they would like that so much!).

Zoo Trips 2010

Henry Doorly is one of our favorite outings - this year we had to be a little choosy as to when we went - couldn't be too hot for preggo mom and couldn't be too late for our little 3 year old or things got a little hairy! Needless to say we had two great lengthy trips in June and July -the first with Grama Vicki and Papa Jim and the second with Dad. We did the Skyfari for the first time and got in the train and carousel too. Fun stuff! Julia sported her "zoo shirt" on both occasions and we got some great pics of her with the giraffes!

Julia's 3rd Birthday! Circus Circus!

On Julia's actual birthday we headed to the Qwest for the Ringling Brothers Circus. It was a pretty cool show - tigers and elephants included. One $13 cotton candy ad 2 hours later all the kids were a little tired by the end! Julia had a lot of fun and enjoyed the rest of her big day - including a birthday chat with Aunt Katie!

Julia's Birthday Part Two

Julia's birthday party was on June 5th. Her grama's and capa's, cousins, GG Brown and the Gutzs were all there. She had a great time playing outside in the sprinklers with her cousins and Will! She especially liked the Cinderella cake and later said "Mom I loved my cake. It was so beautiful." I think she has named about every other princess that she would like to have for her 4th birthday cake. :) The cousins had some fun playing with their scooters later too. Great time!

Julia's 3rd Birthday! Part One

Julia went to see Shrek Forever After as the kickoff to her birthday weekend! She did great at the movie and thought the popcorn was the best part. Followed up by dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise and a fun birthday balloon! We also brought cupcakes to her school on Friday for the kids to decorate.
