Trip to the Ozarks - 1 year old!

We headed down to the Lake of the Ozarks on June 12th - it was a nice relaxing time, other than dodging some pretty nasty weather here and there. Jules had her first boat ride, first spin in her floaty on the lake, and first playtime in her new pool! She also started pointing out mommy & daddy's noses and toes this weekend - so smart - Kyle starts residency in a few weeks so we are trying to enjoy these last weeks of time together before life changes a bit :) Take care all!

Julia's First Birthday!

Whew! This is a big one - and rightfully so! Julia turned one on June 6th - her party was Saturday the 7th. We all had a great time - Julia is walking like crazy now and loving playing with all her new toys.

I think she's in awe :)

The cake ensemble! I went a little overboard - although I may rethink the black frosting next time - see next photo.. .

Hmmm - in case you are wondering. . . Yes. . black frosting tends to show itself the next day - if you know what I mean - not once, but several times over!

Julia's Little Red Wagon from Mom & Dad - she loves it!

Jules and Mallory playing with the balloons - 20 tries and this is the best picture we got!

The cupcake Julia had the day of her actual birthday - much easier to handle than a whole cake!

Little Miss Ladybug!

Julia's first chocolate! She was up several hours past bedtime!

Birthday Breakfast - Waffles & Fruit. And a great "How old are you?" ONE!

Love the new shades!

Pizza Party at Zios for my First Birthday on Friday, June 6th - G&G R, Uncle Scot, Aunt Kendy and Cousin Garrett joined Jules to celebrate! Yep - I'm a good walker now!

Zoo Trip!

We had a great time at the zoo - Julia was a trooper and enjoyed the gorillas, the carousel ride, and the aquarium. She also liked the new butterfly exhibit and of course, the ice cream! We even had an up close view of the new Madagascar exhibit - courtesy of godfather Sam, who is working for Kiewit on the project!
